How To Be A Web Business Analyst

My friend wants to be a web business analyst. He is currently a web project manager at a digital marketing agency. The position of PM is quite administrative in its role. Possibly web business analyst will do good esp in in the corporate industry.However, he has a marketing degree with understanding of web programming languages. Most of Web business analyst positions require someone to have an IT degree; Information sytems, Informatics. Even junior web business analyst positions require 1 year experience within this role and IT degree as mentioned.How to make the transition? Any books that could assist?Self-study or short courses?

If your friend wants to become a BA, and he is already skilled in a particular domain, then all he needs is hands-on experience and a working knowledge of Business Analyst. This means knowing requirements analysis and user case, and UML. There is a variety of information on all these subjects available through books and stand-alone courses, however, make sure your friend focuses on gaining hands-on experience in the industry. Since your friend already has an expertise in the marketing domain, he or she may start targeting marketing and sales Business Analyst types of jobs.
